INFO:
How to reframe botanical science in an era of hybrids, aliens, and blurred boundaries between what is constructed and what is natural? Alien Species uses 3D tools and 3D AI generation to render fictional vegetation with a degree of botanical “realism,” and plays with the veracity of cyanotype as an indexical botanical print. The final print shown is titled Bloom (version #157), named after one frame in a 250-frame animated sequence of unfurling petals (aka a 3D physics animation of hair dynamics).
